Start Your 14-Day Free TrialClickFunnels is a SaaS platform that lets entrepreneurs and small business owners build complete sales funnels without writing code or hiring developers. Whether you sell digital products, physical goods, coaching, or services, it provides the pages, checkout, email follow-up, and analytics you need in one dashboard. This review is based on my own experience using ClickFunnels to run my business over the past several years, and I will cover the features, pricing, pros, cons, and who it is actually a good fit for. I will be straightforward about what works, what does not, and whether the price tag is justified.
What Is ClickFunnels?

ClickFunnels was founded in 2014 by Russell Brunson and Todd Dickerson under their parent company, Etison LLC. Brunson brought the marketing strategy and vision while Dickerson handled the technical development. The platform grew rapidly, helping over 100,000 entrepreneurs build funnels, and was ranked #76 on the Inc 500 list of fastest-growing private companies in America. Since then, the platform has evolved into ClickFunnels 2.0 with an expanded feature set, but the core idea remains the same: make funnel building accessible to everyone, regardless of technical skill.
So what exactly is a sales funnel? A sales funnel is a series of web pages that guide a visitor toward a specific action, whether that is entering an email address, purchasing a product, or booking a call. Unlike a traditional website where visitors can wander in any direction, click through blog posts, or get lost in navigation menus, a funnel moves people through a deliberate, linear sequence: landing page, offer page, order form, upsell, and thank-you page. Each step has one goal and one call to action, which is why funnels consistently outperform standard websites for conversions. ClickFunnels gives you the tools to build that entire sequence without touching a single line of code.
Russell Brunson is also the author of DotCom Secrets, Expert Secrets, and Traffic Secrets, three books that lay out the marketing frameworks the platform is built around. These are not just supplementary reading; the funnel types and strategies inside ClickFunnels are directly based on the concepts in these books. Trainers like Tony Robbins and Jay Abraham have contributed content to the ClickFunnels ecosystem as well, adding credibility and depth to the training materials.
My Experience With ClickFunnels

I was a late bloomer when it came to sales funnels. Before ClickFunnels, I was running an SEO agency and relying on call-to-action buttons buried in blog posts to drive sales. I knew about sales pages, but I did not understand the formula behind them or why they outperformed a standard checkout flow. I was leaving money on the table and did not even realize it.
In late 2018, ClickFunnels ads started filling my Facebook feed, so I decided to check it out for myself. Previously I had been using Profit Builder, a WordPress plugin that had become outdated and cumbersome. For those who do not know, Profit Builder was one of the many marketing plugins people used on WordPress back then, and it had not kept up with the times. If you have ever used unmanaged WordPress for anything beyond blogging, you know the pain: constant plugin updates, broken integrations, PHP version conflicts, and security patches that never end.

That screenshot tells the story. Six plugins needing updates, a membership plugin that lost its credentials, PHP version warnings, and four site health issues. I was spending more time maintaining the site than actually running my business. You might think you are saving $50 per month by self-hosting on WordPress, but you are spending hours every week worrying about updates and whether your site will still be alive tomorrow. That time should be spent on making sales, not debugging PHP.
When I started using ClickFunnels, the difference was immediate. I created an account, picked a template, customized it, and had a live opt-in page within an hour. No server configuration, no plugin conflicts, no FTP uploads. The entire process was refreshingly simple.

That is one of the templates I designed in ClickFunnels, now included in my free template pack. Less than 12 months after switching, I had become a ClickFunnels Dream Car winner.

I genuinely believe that every business should have a funnel or at least an opt-in page, and for most people, ClickFunnels is the simplest way to build one.
Key Features
Drag-and-Drop Page Editor
The visual editor lets you build pages by dragging elements (headlines, images, buttons, forms, videos, countdown timers, pricing tables, and progress bars) into sections, rows, and columns. No coding required. Pages are structured logically with sections containing rows and columns, so even first-time users can figure out the layout quickly. You can start from a blank canvas or customize any existing template. Nearly every element can be styled individually, including background colors, fonts, margins, and padding. For a step-by-step walkthrough, see my guide on how to use ClickFunnels.
Funnel Templates (22+ Types)
ClickFunnels includes over 22 types of pre-built funnel blueprints organized into four categories: lead capture funnels, sales page funnels, event funnels, and membership funnels. Each type comes with both free and premium template options, so you are never starting from scratch. The templates are professionally designed and cover everything from simple opt-in pages to complex multi-step product launch sequences. Browse the full selection in my ClickFunnels templates overview.
Follow-Up Funnels (Email and SMS Automation)
Formerly known as Actionetics, Follow-Up Funnels is the built-in email and SMS automation system. You can create email sequences, broadcast messages, and segment contacts based on behavior. SMS automation is powered through Twilio integration. This feature is only available on the Pro plan.
Backpack (Affiliate Management)
Backpack lets you create and manage your own affiliate program directly inside ClickFunnels. You can set commission tiers, track referrals, and pay affiliates, all without a third-party tool. Also exclusive to the Pro plan. Learn more in my ClickFunnels Affiliate Bootcamp review.
A/B Split Testing
Every page in ClickFunnels can be split tested. Duplicate a page, change a headline, swap out an image, or adjust a button color, and ClickFunnels will automatically distribute traffic between the variants and report which one converts better. This is built into every plan at no extra cost, which is a genuine advantage since many competitors charge extra for split testing or limit it to higher tiers.
FunnelFlix Training Library
FunnelFlix is a Netflix-style training library included with all plans. It features courses on funnel strategy, copywriting, traffic, and business building from Russell Brunson and guest instructors including Tony Robbins and Jay Abraham. Read my full FunnelFlix review for a detailed breakdown. The One Funnel Away Challenge is another structured training worth checking out.
One-Click Upsells
After a customer completes a purchase, you can present one-click upsell and downsell offers. Because the payment information is already on file, the customer can accept with a single click, which significantly increases average order value.
Share Funnels
Every funnel you build gets a unique Share Funnel URL. When someone clicks it, the entire funnel (pages, copy, design) is cloned into their ClickFunnels account instantly. This is useful for agencies building funnels for clients, for sharing proven funnels with your team, or for distributing funnels as bonuses. There is no need to export files, transfer via FTP, or worry about logins. The Share Funnel URL also doubles as an affiliate link, so if the person who clicks it signs up for a new ClickFunnels account, you earn a commission.
Payment Integration
ClickFunnels integrates natively with Stripe and PayPal for payment processing, letting you sell products, subscriptions, and memberships directly from your funnels without needing a separate shopping cart. Setting up payments takes just a few minutes: connect your Stripe or PayPal account, add a product with a price, and attach it to an order form element on your page. ClickFunnels also connects with email marketing tools like ActiveCampaign, Mailchimp, and ConvertKit, as well as hundreds of other apps through Zapier for more advanced workflows.

Pricing
ClickFunnels offers two plans, both with a 14-day free trial.
| Feature | Basic ($97/month) | Pro ($297/month) |
|---|---|---|
| Funnels | 20 | Unlimited |
| Pages | 100 | Unlimited |
| Visitors | 20,000/month | Unlimited |
| Custom domains | 3 | 9 |
| Follow-Up Funnels (email) | No | Yes |
| Backpack (affiliates) | No | Yes |
| Sub-users | 1 | 3 |
| FunnelFlix | Yes | Yes |
| A/B split testing | Yes | Yes |
| Share Funnels | Yes | Yes |
The Basic plan is a solid starting point if you are new to funnels and want to test the waters. The 20-funnel and 100-page limits are more than enough for most small businesses starting out. If you need email automation, unlimited funnels, or want to run your own affiliate program, you will need to upgrade to the Pro plan. Both plans come with a 14-day free trial, so you can build your first funnel and see results before committing.
There is also a 3 months for $99 deal currently available - 3 months of ClickFunnels for a one-time payment of $99 instead of $197 per month, saving $492. This is the cheapest way to get extended access and a good alternative entry point if you want more time than the 14-day trial provides.

Who Is ClickFunnels For?
ClickFunnels is right for you if:
- You sell products, services, or courses online and want a dedicated funnel builder
- You do not have coding or design skills and need a visual drag-and-drop tool
- You want landing pages, email follow-up, checkout, and analytics in one platform
- You value speed over total customization and want to launch pages quickly
- You are willing to invest $97/month or more in your marketing infrastructure
ClickFunnels is not right for you if:
- You need a full-featured blog, content site, or SEO-driven website (WordPress or Shopify are better fits)
- You are on a tight budget and cannot justify $97/month (consider Systeme.io, which has a free tier)
- You already have a tech stack you are happy with (separate landing page builder, email tool, checkout system)
- You need advanced ecommerce features like inventory management or multi-variant products
ClickFunnels vs Alternatives
| Feature | ClickFunnels | Kartra | Builderall | Systeme.io | Leadpages |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starting price | $97/month | $99/month | $14.90/month | Free | $37/month |
| Funnel builder | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Limited |
| Email automation | Pro plan only | All plans | All plans | All plans | No |
| Affiliate management | Pro plan only | All plans | No | All plans | No |
| A/B testing | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Membership sites | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
| Ease of use | High | Medium | Low | High | High |
Kartra is the closest competitor in terms of features, offering email automation and affiliate management on all plans, but it has a steeper learning curve. Builderall is the budget option with a huge feature list, though the user experience is rougher. Systeme.io stands out for having a genuinely free plan that includes funnel building, email, and even an affiliate program, making it the best choice for people on a tight budget. Leadpages is excellent for standalone landing pages but lacks full funnel building and email automation capabilities.

Final Verdict
ClickFunnels is not the cheapest option on the market, but it is one of the most complete. If you need to build sales funnels, collect leads, process payments, and follow up with customers without stitching together five different tools, it delivers on that promise. The drag-and-drop editor, template library, and FunnelFlix training make it genuinely accessible to beginners, while the split testing and automation features give experienced marketers room to optimize and scale. The $97/month starting price pays for itself quickly when a single funnel generates even one sale. If you are serious about selling online, it is worth trying for yourself with the 14-day free trial.
